Hello fellow PowerPoint enthusiasts! Today’s video is all about a PowerPoint add-in called Power User, from Power User Softwares. The add-in claims to do various things that will, in summary, make your presentations awesome in less time.
I just want to be very clear here, this is an extremely powerful add-in with tons and tons of features. I only selected the ones I wanted to highlight in this video, but I’ve provided a link in the description for Power User’s website where you can learn more.
Oh, and one more thing, there’s a a give away for 50 lucky Slide Cow followers. I’ll explain how you can have a chance in getting a Power User license at the end of the video.
Feature #1 – The Slide Templates Library
My favorite feature, by far, is the slide template library. The library contains just around 170 PowerPoint slide templates that are completely editable to your liking. Put simply, these templates can save you lots of time when you are trying to convey the information you want to get across. For example some of these template slides are very visual focused; pictures and diagrams are used to illustrate your point. Other templates are focused towards your thought process. Others are focused on specific business theories, models and analysis techniques such as SMART objectives, or Porter’s 5 Forces to communicate your message more effectively.
What makes these slide templates so great is that it all comes down to how you want to use them.
One last thing, you actually have the ability to save any slide you create within the template library and access that slide later from any presentation file without having to look for it.
Feature #2 – Icons
With Power User, you will instantly have access to 1,000 icons, spanning from the flags of the world to a baby in diapers. If you’ve been following Slide Cow, you’d know icons are important for almost any PowerPoint slide. Power User has recognized that and has made it easy for all of us.
You’ll have the ability to browse icons with similar design styles. You also have the ability to search icons through keyword association, or by category. You can even add your own icons if you need to express your own creative flair! Last, but not least, since the Power User team adds new icons and themes on a regular basis, you will get additional icons, for free, through the Power-User download center.
Feature #3 – Pipette
This tool is probably the the most powerful formatting tool ever made for PowerPoint. It enables fast and flexible formatting like no other tool on PowerPoint based on one element on your slide.
You might be saying “wait, we have format painter for that.” Yes, we do, but Format Painter, for the most part, only allows us to copy the same color, font style and outline of a specific element.
With Pipette, we can copy so much more. For example, we can copy shape size, the types of bullet points used and even shape positions. We can then choose exactly what we want to apply, and where we want to apply it to. Maybe I want to copy a format of the shape, but not the text. Maybe I want that formatted for all my shapes throughout my deck. That can all be done with ease. It’s awesome!
What else is there?
Like I said, there are loads of features with Power User. You have the ability to add customizable maps, Gantt charts, waterfall charts, and so much more! Check out the link below to find out more.
What about the giveaway?
As I stated earlier, I’m pleased to announce that Power User has given us X amount of licenses to use. Remember, each and every license is worth roughly $220 per year.
To be a part of the giveaway, you literally only have to do one thing.
Sign up to our mailing list. You can do this on the right side of the page!
50 random e-mails will be chosen by me, and I will distribute the licenses to the winners.
If you are already subscribed to the Slide Cow mailing list, then you are automatically a part of the giveaway draw.
That’s all this week, next week we’re back in the tutorials. Have fun!
