2 SmartArt Hacks That Will Save You Loads of Time on PowerPoint

Have you ever spent long periods of time trying to crop every image on your slide to be the same size? What about making various shapes with text in them? Well, don’t you worry, because I’m about to blow your mind and show you two smartart hacks that will help you do these activities and save LOADS of time in the process.

SmartArt Hack #1 – Picture Hacking

Say you have loads of pictures on a slide and you want to make them all the same size. One way to do this is to go to every picture individually and hit the crop button and try and find ways to adjust it to another picture. From there, you just keep repeating the process.

Now, this is fine for 1, 2, maybe 3 pictures? But what if you had 10 images? 20? 30?

You need a faster way.

And there is one.

Watch the video and learn how to take advantage of turning your pictures into a SmartArt object and then ungrouping it. You can then play around with the pictures however you’d like. And the best part? You can do all of this in about 15 seconds. How’s that for saving time?

SmartArt Hack #2 – Shape Hacking

We all make one text block and type some things in it. We then copy and paste that same text block, and write new things in it. And then we just keep doing this until we get the amount of text blocks that we need for our slide.

How boring, and slow.

But there’s an easier way.

In the video, watch how I use a SmartArt graphic and keep adding to it. As I keep adding to the object, it scales appropriately. Once I’m done with the text, I can resize it however I’d like, and then ungroup it to get the individual shapes I’m after. From there, I can do whatever I’d like to these shapes.

Oh, also, there’s a secret gem in the Shape Hacking part of the video. Watch it to find out!

Have fun saving time!
